History

Since 2012, the Granite Falls Family Center has been working within the community to empower and strengthen every individual and family to be successful.

The program started with the initial purpose of providing basic needs access to rural families in need of resources.

Currently, the Granite Falls Family Center is focusing on supporting the homeless population with food, clothing, mental health and drug assessments and referrals. The Center also looks to to provide families with Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) benefits, vouchers, information and resources, financial literacy and divorce support as well as volunteer opportunities.

The Granite Falls Family Center is a part of a larger initiative by Lutheran Community Services Northwest (LCSNW) with roots in the Family Support Movement of the mid-1970s. This movement sought to build strong communities, fill gaps in programs, services and support and ensure under served communities and populations have access to those services.
